What’s normal for you now that was not normal 3 months ago?
We are always changing, developing, growing and progressing. But as highly adaptive beings, it’s in our nature to airbrush-out new and improved talents and abilities as nothing different or special. And that robs us of the all-important reward element of our habit loops.
Notice what’s become your “New Normal” – so you can strengthen that internal feedback loop that notices effort and achievement, leading to recognition and reward – and so encouraging more of the same.
Failing to notice our new normals also has us thinking (erroneously) that we’re now the finished article. We know we’re a different person than who we once were. But we don’t translate that into its natural continuum: becoming someone different in the future.
Take a moment to imagine your DESIRED FUTURE SELF. What would most benefit you and your goals to become your new performance normals, 3 months from now? Moving in new circles. Influencing large groups. Leading communities and movements. Sharing thought leadership.
