What can I do when I’m lacking confidence?

.14 May 2024.

It’s not uncommon to feel (think!)”I don’t have the confidence”. But there are better-serving, more resourceful thoughts available to us – and that we can become practised in.

Let’s begin with the thought we most often jump to. “I lack confidence”. This is vague and unusable. But … get SPECIFIC with your internal narrative, and you’ll tap into your natural resourcefulness that comes from sitting with the thought: “I’m feeling a lack confidence because I’m …”

🔸 Feeling uncertain about how this is going to go.
🔸 Anxious about what people will say or do in response.
🔸 Making outcomes mean something about me.

Isolate whatever specific thought is CREATING your current sense of lacking confidence. When you do, new options emerge. And if you can then sit with this more-specific thought, you’ll likely find yourself naturally creating your game-plan to address your “lack of confidence”. By tuning into the feeling that’s blocking you, you’ve identified what “the work” really is.

So, what can you do when you’re lacking confidence? GET SPECIFIC!
