STOP STOPPING!
Voltaire said: “No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking.”
I enjoy that thought. And just as much, I enjoy the sister-thought: No opportunity can withstand the progress of sustained action.
The operative word, here, is SUSTAINED. Sustained thought. Sustained action. And when we’re at our best, this is our default. And results are achieved.
But more often than not: we STOP. We lose the external war against interruption and distraction. We lose the internal war against hesitation and self-doubt. (Or, more accurately, we choose to.)
And so we stop. Before something great can come together. And the internal story is: “that didn’t work”.
Have you ever looked back on a project, an initiative, a hobby … or just life, in general! And wonder what might have been if you hadn’t of stopped?
So … stop stopping! Because if you can bring sustained focus to a project, you’ll never regret the result. And if you can bring sustained focus to your days, you’ll never regret your year.
