Creating Courage
A Quality of Thought: Creating Courage
We talk about having courage. But is courage something we have?
What does it mean to me to have courage? When I have courage what happens? I take different actions. I behave differently. And so I might argue that courage is a behaviour. Something I practise.
And in those moments of acting and behaving courageously, I am thinking differently. I have thoughts. I have beliefs. And so I might argue that my courage is actually a thought. A belief.
And those actions and behaviours. Those thoughts and beliefs. They all originate with me. And so courage is not something I have. Courage is something I create.
Courage – and its creation – is a thought.
