A thought to start the week: “tolerations, no more”
Tolerations, No More
What are you putting up with in your life and work right now?
That arduous copy/paste effort for the monthly report which you keep promising yourself you’ll sort-out before next month. That constant frustration of searching for requested information from a disorganised and chaotic filling system. Something just not quite right with your environment or equipment setup.
Tolerations are those “little” things that frustrate, distract and drain us. Unmet needs. Unfinished business. Difficult situations. They cost us time, effort and energy. But have become such a part of our day-to-day, that we put up with them – without noticing their significant cost.
When we take care of a (any) toleration, two things happen: we notice just how costly it’s been; and we get a little surge of motivation from the positive brain chemistry that comes with a win. And from there, we’re in the perfect position to start building the habit of ridding ourselves of our tolerations. And it’s liberating.
So this week: Choose one toleration. Take care of it. Notice how great the payback is for that small effort. And think how great it would be to take care of all your tolerations. And so take back control of your life.
