A thought to start the week: “result vs. process.”
Result vs. Process
We are generally a very goal-oriented work population. We spend time talking about, thinking about, measuring and reviewing results. And results are great: they put us at cause.
But a purely results-based focus can have us forget the process. And that can put us at effect. A lack of power, influence and impact. And results don’t happen without a willing investment into the process – especially in high-pressure, demanding situations.
So ask yourself now: how much time are we spending on the result vs. the process? Because whilst the result will give us the inspiration and specification; the process will ensure our work towards it is intelligent and diligent.
Improve performance and output by accompanying every End Goal (RESULT) with a Work Goal (PROCESS).
