A Quality of Thought: Love the Process
I’d like you to notice now: how you’ve always gotten your best results when you’ve loved the PROCESS as much as you’ve loved the RESULT you’re working towards.
That’s not to say you haven’t done the initial thinking on your goal. To get really clear. To get really connected with what you’re aiming to achieve.
But once done: you’ve then designed the strategy to achieve it; and then focused on the process. And it’s in that full-throated commitment to the process you’ve seen results.
Because the process is what delivers the result. It’s what links the micro efforts to the macro goal. It’s what gives us focus and direction when we lose our way. It’s what conserves much-needed thinking resources when we’re spared the burden of thinking each day, anew, about what’s to be done.
So as you’re about to embark on your next project; or about to redouble your efforts on a current goal: find ways to love the process as much as the result you’re looking to achieve.
