A Quality of Thought: Knowledge Isn’t Power.
For those of us who love to escape into education (and many of us do), here’s a reminder: Knowledge ISN’T Power. It’s only potential power.
Knowledge becomes power only in implementation. Only once organised, and worked and put to use. When it is directed, with purpose, towards some definitive goal.
That’s not to say education is a bad thing. Education is a wonderful thing. And its undertaking can be life uplifting.
But get clear on your reasons for education before you enter into it. Be sure of its purpose. Not just because: we can’t think of anything better to do, to move our businesses or our careers forward.
So ask: is my issue a gap in my knowledge? Or lack of imaginative and purposeful implementation of the mountain of knowledge on which I already stand?
