Being Present

We’re so often in a rush to get into our own futures. Planning ahead, focusing on what’s next, thinking about something else, deciding we’ll “be happy when …”. And forward thinking is great; but when it comes at the expense of the present, we miss out. And we short-change not only ourselves, but those around us.

This week, notice where your focus is; and ask yourself if you’re fully present. Develop an awareness to distractions. And to forward thinking that doesn’t relate to the present. Acknowledge those thoughts – and then gently bring yourself back to the present.
